This project started in 2020, around the time when some Junior clubs were moving to the Senior ranks. At that time I had fairly extensive records of the Ayrshire Juniors and decided to expand this to include all of Scotland.
The Junior game now only truly exists in the north-east as the East of Scotland and West of Scotland clubs moved to the senior ranks to form the multi-tiered feeder leagues to the Scottish League.
Personally I think it is sad to see the demise of the Junior game as it has provided a rich football history in Scotland. The vast majority of clubs in this new multi-tiered system will never really make an impression and, at the end of the day, it will be the clubs supported by people with money who may well progress.
It is safe to say that this project will never be completed as coverage of Junior football at times could be very sketchy in some areas. There are bound to be numerous inaccuracies on the website and any help in correcting these would be most welcome.
"The baw's on the slates"
From a time when football was played in the streets of Glasgow. If the ball landed on a roof then the game was over.
I've strived to provide accurate and comprehensive information about the history of Scottish Junior football. However, if you notice any inaccuracies or have additional insights to share, I warmly welcome your contributions.
Your knowledge and passion for Junior football can help ensure that this website remains a reliable resource for fans, historians and enthusiasts alike.
I have not listed results from seasons 1980 - 2019 as these are covered comprehensively elsewhere.
My thanks to Stuart McGregor at LPC Design + Print in Largs for designing and setting up the website. Without his expertise there would have been no means for me to present my records.
"Fantastic service, amazing volunteers."
